The Joyce Juan Manalo Legacy Fund exists in this spirit. Joyce was a Manila-born artist, theater producer, and designer who built spaces where Filipina creativity could thrive. She co-led Bindlestiff Studio, the longest-running Filipino American black box theater in San Francisco, and she dedicated her life to supporting artists, making room for the stories that needed to be told.

This grant—$5,000 for self-identified Pinay artists working in dance, music, theater, film, literary arts, visual arts, and traditional arts—carries that work forward. It’s here to support the work that sustains artists: the projects, exhibitions, productions, and materials that keep creativity moving. Because when artists are given space, they expand. They experiment. They take flight.
